In dwm, it is possible to assign multiple tags to a window so that it would appear in multiple "workspaces". Is this possible in i3?

No, afaik this is not possible. Liked this feature in wmii, which is where i3 comes from. So far did not find a link to the main developer saying this, but I remember that this feature was willingly not implemented. One X-Application, one window. Sounds like a solid design to me.

To clarify: we are not opposed to sticky windows in general, but tagging will not be our choice of how to implement it.

I would like this feature too, this feature to make a window or container available in multiple workspaces does not exist yet or do anyone know if there is a patch for this?
