Hello everyone, I've been using i3 for a couple of days now and am enjoying it a lot.

What I'd like to do is have it so that when I click the full screen button on an embedded video it fills up the container instead of the entire screen. I'm not sure how to go about doing this so any help/direction would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

i3 manages windows, and provides those to applications. How applications use those windows, is up to them.

There is no way i3 will be willingfully lying to applications that the container that they see, really is all of the available screen, so they will behave as in full screen mode in just a part of the screen.

Apart from that: VLC has a `minimal interface` mode (press Ctrl+H or `View → Minimal Interface`) or use mplayer (which does not have a GUI at all)
