Are there any simple solution(s) to archive server status on i3 bar?

Less simple (I guess) would be runing collectd on server, then pass data from it to i3bar (or similar) program.

Any ideas are welcome. Most simple ways are the best. Mostly I need trattic status on network interfaces and load status. Secondary are disk IO and disk usage.

But that gave me an idea. I could search if it was possible to fetch that information as text from the gkrellm daemon that is running on my server.

Comment by joepd for
The way to display any information on i3bar is to wrap the i3status command, see http://i3wm.org/i3status/manpage.html#externalscriptsprogramswith_i3status
