When I open GVim, it takes a while for it to become ready. I wait about 30 seconds or so. It seems to be waiting for something. Here is the output when I type gvim into terminal :

    12:19:33 ceyhun-asus:~ > gvim

(gvim:10034): Gnome-WARNING **: Accessibility: failed to find module 'libgail-gnome' which is needed to make this application accessible

** (gvim:10034): WARNING **: Unable to create Ubuntu Menu Proxy: Timeout was reached

(gvim:10034): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot retrieve class for invalid (unclassed) type `<invalid>'
    12:20:00 ceyhun-asus:~ >

If that is the case i didn't run anything related to unity in my i3 session. It might be waiting for it maybe? Thanks for the direction, i found starting GVim as 'gvim -f' useful, it starts immediately. :)
