Alt + Enter starts xterm; I was wondering
what is the best way to switch the default to a different
terminal emulator, e.g. lxterminal. I could not find a relevant line in
the configuration file.
Check the man page for i3-sensible-terminal (man i3-sensible-terminal).
You can also modify this line in your i3 config: bindsym $mod+Return exec i3-sensible-terminal
