i use 2 DE's, xfce4 & i3. i have installed & use a cursor theme in xfce4, which does not initiate in i3. if, however, i first login to xfce4, then login to i3, cursor theme works. so question is "how to get cursor theme to initiate in i3wm?"

i assume i need to add to config, but lost as how to do it.

Comments

Which version of i3? Also, this smells like a bug report, not a question.

Well, I suppose you have configured the cursor theme in XFCE only, when you should do it in X11. I use the following in my ~/.Xresources:

Xcursor.theme: foo

Where "foo" refers to a directory in ~/.icons/. Be aware that Xresources is case-sensitive.
