I have a dell monitor that can be turned upright. The problem is, in i3, the screen is then 90 degrees wrong. How do I rotate it?

The workspace with that screen is always workspace 2, when I open i3. How do I edit the config file to make sure this display is rotated each time I open i3?

Ps. It works in regular Ubuntu, so if I knew which files were edited there, by the display manager, I could just copy those settings to i3.

You should use xrandr at the start of your session, or a program like "arandr" (gui)

Hack, if using lightdm and ubuntu:

Set up the display correctly in ubuntu, then copy ~/.config/monitors.xml to /var/lib/lightdm/.config

But this cannot be the preferred way, no?
