Shared Clipboard for Virtualbox guest

Hi,

I'm running i3wm on a Virtualbox guest (FreeBSD). I have the virtualbox guest service installed and running; bidirectional copy+paste works fine across the hosts when I'm running xfce4 / kde4 wm on this guest, however when I use i3, the hosts do not share clipboards and maintain separate, independent copy/paste buffers :(

Is this a feature that i3 does not support?
