SDL fullscreen problem [closed]

When I start frozen-bubble 2.2.1beta1 in fullscreen mode in i3 4.8 (2014-06-15) that is available in Archlinux, the window is displayed in the original resolution (not fullscreen mode) with a black background. The GPU is an Intel graphics card.

The fullscreen mode seems to work well under gnome. Is there any work around to display SDL applications in fullscreen mode in i3?
