I have 'exec --no-startup-id /usr/bin/gnome-settings-daemon' on my ~/.i3/config. When I login the mouse cursos disappears for some seconds although I can still click on things, it then reappears after some 60 seconds.

Open a terminal window and type:

dconf write /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/cursor/active false
