Default keybinding

I currently use dwm with keybindings configured to be very vi(m) like, but I thought I might give i3 a try.

I noticed default keybindings ( on the reference card ) for focus left/up/down/right are vi(m)-keys shifted by one key right, why? Can they be changed?

Seriously, your question is "can the key bindings be changed"? :-)

This is a tiling window manager with a declared target audience of power users an developers. Of coursethe keybindings can be changed, see http://i3wm.org/docs/userguide.html#k... (which you should have read before asking in the FAQ).

The jkl; question was already asked on the mailing list: http://www.mail-archive.com/i3-discus... — in summary: We use jkl; because that’s on your homerow and therefore where your fingers rest when touch-typing anyway.

Thanks, and I guess sorry. I "read" the userguide searching for keybinding, which conveniently misses that section ;) Also ml-link is broken.
