How can I focus the parent container?

The i3 user guide mentions focusing the parent container but never mentions how this is done. As far as I can see no key combination allows you to do this.

This can be done with focus parent. I thought this was in the default config:

bindsym $mod+a focus parent

edit flag offensive delete link

Yeah. It's both described in the userguide and a default binding.
