sound volume not displaying the correct popup [closed]

I'm using volumeicon to control the volume in the icon.

When I use the buttons on the keyboard to increase or decrease the volume a popup shows in the top right stating "volume icon", but not the current volume.

I'm not sure whether this is a problem with i3, volumeicon or something else,

Does anyone have experience with this, if so how do I make it work correctly?

No, it's not an i3 issue. I guess you have a daemon like dunst running to display those messages. They are sent by volumeicon (unless your keybinding does it, but that you'd hopefully be aware of then). I know that dunst doesn't support the full notification standard, maybe that's an issue.
