Hey,

i tried to install the .deb File from the Homepage, but i3 didnt work with this file. Mod+d wasnt working. So i installed it from the Ubuntu- Paketsourcelist. But its an older version and each time, i am editing the config file there is a warning with the message, that i should do an update. But how?

Thank you guys.

If mod+d does not work, you are missing the package dmenu.

We provide repositories which contain recent versions for Ubuntu, see http://i3wm.org/docs/repositories.html

I don’t get your comment. Can you rephrase? Also, please don’t post comments as answers to your question. Instead, ask a new question.

Uhm, just like you upgrade any other package in Ubuntu? Add our repository, then update your package lists and upgrade i3-wm.
