I installed i3wm with Ubuntu 12.10 But the status bar is not showing up. I used the 1st option(Generate the config files) but nothing happened so I deleted the config files and run config-wizard-config command then I chose the 2nd option but still I can't see the status bar. I dual boot another Ubuntu 12.10 and I installed i3 there and the status bar showed up. How can I solve this problem ?

THis is what I have when pressing tab after i3 in the terminal :

suhaib@suhaib:~$ i3
i3 i3-sensible-editor
i3-config-wizard i3-sensible-pager
i3-dump-log i3-sensible-terminal
i3-input i386
i3-migrate-config-to-v4 i3bar
i3-msg i3lock
i3-nagbar i3status

Can you pastebin your config and i3status config (if available)? What is the i3 version?

I'm not sure, but I think that on Ubuntu instead of i3wm you have to install the meta-package i3 to get the additional programs like i3-status.
