i3 focusses on being maximally useful. While other tiling window managers might include wasting pixels in their development goals, i3 is not one of them.

Are you main developer of i3?

No, I am not. But this is not the first time the subject came up (mailing list, irc, bug tracker?).

Use a compositor, I use compton personally.

I do not understand what are you saying. Dost compositor relate to it?

You can make borders transparent with a compositor, and menus and title bars and whole windows when they're focused unfocused.

So it is a compositor windows manager, but I lost interesting in it at right. But thanks anyway.

A compositor is just the tool that allows you to make these EYE CANDY changes... it's not your window manager it's just a tool. github.com/chjj/compton

I tried compton with option "-e" (targets transparency of titles and borders) but nothing happens. Could it be that compton "fails" to recognize those window elements in i3? Did anyone succeed this way?
