I was using XFCE before I started playing with i3. I noticed that whenever I closed the cover of my laptop the system does not automatically susspend anymore as it used to do with XFCE. It just stays on. I have configured a keybinding to trigger pm-suspend and that works fine I want the same behavior when I close the screen. please help

I am on i3 4.7

I am right now launching the xfce4-power-manager to provide the functionality. Now everything works and is as configurable as xfce will allow me.

#power management
execalways xfce-power-manager

#print screen
bindsym Print exec xfce4-screenshooter
